Welcoming new changes!
Our name has changed!!!! 7 Southern Sisters will be our new name!
Since the birth of our last daughter (5 years ago) I have had this name swimming around in my head. My dreams of owning a cute little southern shop where our girls can come together and share in the love of all things boutique and southern are not far from my thoughts. As you can tell from the name we do in fact have 7 daughters. All blondies and all southern raised. With our newest little gran-girl due in November...I'm sure we will be inspired by even more girly girl items to add to the shop when Reese Elizabeth arrives.
As our kids get older I'm finding my seasons are changing. Our shop will still include children's clothing. But you will be seeing more home decor items grace our list. Although with a new baby around you never know what might inspire me or all the aunts that will be swarming around here.

As soon as I figure out how to transfer all my Karen's Kidz to a new blog and Facebook page I'll post the information here. Thanks for your support as we transition into the new season.

New listings!!!!!!!!!!!
The last few months I have slacked away from listing any new children's clothing. Although sewing for my girls is my first love. My kids are the inspiration for any sewing I do....they are the reason I continue and they benefit from all my listings. I have fallen in Love with burlap! So you might be seeing many more home decor listings with this rustic itchy fabric.Not just clothing!
A couple of weeks ago I received a message from a sweet mom who is due any day now with her second child. She requested a Navy Blue pair of capris like the striped ones here. Her sweet little girl is about to become a big sister and they will be having family portraits done after the sibling's arrival. Her inspiration was the motivation I needed! Check out our Karen's Kidz store with our new listings. I love special orders and invite any ideas you may have!
Here are the photos from today's photo shoot.....Our little caboose is our entertainment and my model. What a mess she is! Hopefully our soon to be granddaughter will join her crazy aunt in all the fun!

A little home decor...Burlap Wreath!
I love burlap! I remember my mom and grandmother making burlap underwear and even talked of making bras out of this itchy stuff!. Well I haven't gone so far as to make anything in the clothing department....but I'm close! My mind isn't far from the sewing machine. I have what you call...KIDS! They are the reason I love to create but also the reason I get very little of that creativity onto the cutting board! I guess I have had a little sewing block. I better shake this block soon....my fabric shelf is looking very full!
Seriously...Burlap has become a decorator must have! I have even seen burlap covered furniture! So for your decorator's good pleasure I present to you.......

I'm Back...with a peek of what's to come!
Don't ask! My sewing machine hasn't been far from my thoughts. I guess I have been busy raising kids and juggling the world. No more excuses! My sewing room has been moved to a different part of the house and I'm ready to crank out the ruffles and lace (That's what my step dad use to call me). Get ready...here's a tease of what I've made so far.....More photos to come!
